The Thoresby Bird of Prey Experience

Indulge in a Bird of Prey encounter, in the heart of The Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire. With group sizes capped at six participants, you are guaranteed an immersive adventure. Take flight with the majestic birds as each participant has the unique opportunity to fly all the magnificent species, under the expert guidance of Alistair. 

This experience promises not only a glimpse into the fascinating world of raptors but an interactive journey where every participant becomes an integral part of the soaring spectacle. With the ancient charm of Sherwood Forest as your backdrop, this encounter ensures an unforgettable day of connection with these incredible creatures in a special setting.

• This Bird of Prey encounter includes around 10 birds of prey.
• Set in a private 5 acre Victorian Walled Garden and part of The Sherwood Forest.
• From the speed and determination of the Peregrine Falcon to the beautiful Great Grey Owl, this is an experience to remember.
• Some of the birds will be flying to you out of the trees and others will be gliding to your glove, flying over crops, grasses and woodland flora.
• The experience is 2 hours in duration and is undertaken on specific dates which can be viewed here - hawkeyefalconry.co.uk/book
• This experience is undertaken in groups, with a maximum of 6 participants in each experience. This to ensure there are plenty of opportunities for everyone to fly the birds.
• Spectators are very welcome. Limited to 2 spectators per participant. £10 each.
• Minimum age - 6 years (For both participants and spectators)
• This is an outdoor activity, which does involve walking through woodland areas. If you or the recipient are unable to walk distances, we recommend you consider an exclusive experience, so that we can cater for your needs. Total walking distance covered, during this experience is around half a mile. Not suitable for wheelchairs etc.
